Yesterday, after reading many of the helpful posts on getting MMS to work, I decided to bring my girlfriend's sim card into the mix just to see what happened.

I installed the 3.0 GM OS, installed the AT&T carrier bundle, and put in everything I needed into the MMS settings.

When I tried sending an MMS from my line (the main iPhone line on my account) it failed. Thus, I said, "What the hell! Let me put in my girlfriend's sim card and see what happens."

My girlfriend currently uses a Sony Walkman phone with MMS and Media Net enabled. I placed her sim card into my iPhone and all of my MMS settings disappeared with the exception of the default APN setting that is always there. Keep in mind that they may have disappeared due to the fact that I turned off my iPhone before inserting her card. Also, I DID NOT put in any of the MMS settings again. Anyhow, I sent out three MMS messages in a row and they were all recieved by T-Mobile users.

Here is my question: what is going on with her sim card, or her line, that is different from my sim card or line? Is it the fact that she has MMS enabled on AT&T's side? And if that is true, then why does sending MMS using her sim card NOT require any of the MMS settings everyone has been talking about? Thanks for any ideas!
