I was just surfing my local craig's list and found a posting for a Mac edition Radeon 7000 for $10. My questions are, is this compatible with the G4 in my sig and would it be a worthwhile upgrade? My G4 currently still has the stock Rage video card and I do find it a little lacking when it comes to video playback. Would the small bump help in that regard? Anybody with knowledge or has used this model have any thoughts? Thanks.

It should work fine but the improvements depend on if the card is a genuine Mac edition card or a ROM-flashed PC card as that will determine how much VRAM it has. The Rage 128Pro card is 16MB. The Genuine Mac Edition one was 32. Lots of flashed ones are 64MB. The higher the better obviously.

Mind you, for $10 you might as well get it regardless as it will be better than the Rage. :)

The listing states it is a 32MB mac version. I was thinking the same when it comes to the price. I'll check to see if it's still available. Thanks
