So I got a great price on a 42mm SS model that had AppleCare until 2017 and 2 replacements that are unused.

Couple questions:
How do I make sure I appropriately get the AppleCare transferred over to me and I somehow don't "lose" it as that was a big selling point to me?

What type of damage does the device need to have for me to use one of the replacements? Is it whenever I want or does a true damaged device in a significant way need to be present?

Thanks for any help and so damn excited to finally have made a decision and get one!! :)

It's tied to the device and doesn't necessarily need to be transferred over to the next owner.

So I should be safe in this transaction and shouldn't have to do anything as it is tied to the serial number on the device is what I understand your answer as?
