To anyone considering buying either an Xtreme Mac in-car charger or a Monster iCassette iPhone Compatible, to uyse with their iPhone: DON'T. The iCassette is complete crap, making the music unlistenable, and the charger is made for a slimmer-than-usual cigarette lighter socket, so it just flops around in mine without charging anything. Two items on their way back to the Apple Store.

Has anyone had any success with a (preferably) combined unit to charge and play in a car?

That's really odd that you're having that issue with the Xtreme Mac charger.

I got one a couple weeks ago and if anything I'm having the opposite problem. The lighter adapter is overly tight and is a bit tricky to get in and out of the lighter socket.

That being said, it works flawlessly once you can get it in the socket.

That isn't what the feedback on the Apple Store website says: all except one say that radio interference is horrendous, the plug doesn't fit, and the thing comes with far too much cable. Strange.
