I'll try and keep this brief...
Old Mac started acting strange so it made for a great chance to buy a new 21.5", 2.5qc, 500gb iMac. I tried migrating applications (especially lightroom2) to new iMac, but when I tried to open the catalog on the new imac from a time machine backup, there seemed to be permission issues. I wiped the hd clean and restored the os and am now setting up a user account again...do I use my old user account info? Or is there another way I can access my old data more seamlessly. FYI...can't FireWire to old Mac anymore. Seems like there's a hd issue (can't even repair old hd with install DVD disk repair).
Apologies for anything unclear. Just trying to take advantage of starting fresh on new machine and doing it the right way.
Thanks!
