I have a MacBook Air and I was wondering how I can figure out the admin password to unlock my account so that I can change my account from standard to an admin account so that I can use VMWare and sheepshaver on my MacBook Air.

Since this shows you're a managed user, you should talk to whoever manages the computer (school/parents) about doing what you need.

But they wont let me do it anyway.
If they've done their job correctly, it's not possible to do what you want, and if it's a school computer, trying to circumvent their system is likely to have serious repercussions for you.
