Hi.
I've searched for a solution to this problem but to no avail, I recently ran an apple update and installed/uninstalled syncmate and since have had the problem as seen in the attached screenshot.
When I click to change anything in the system preferences the verify username & password window appears but all the text has been replaced by A's in boxes, the functions still work but it looks very odd!
Has anyone come across this before and/or have a possible solution?
Thanks.

You have a bit of OS corruption going on. So first I would run disk utility and see what comes from that. I would also try a different user to see if it is a local user setting issue or a global issue.

Cheers

I wouldn't go that far...

Looks like a font issue. Office 2011 caused something like this if you didn't quit certain apps before finishing the install.

Have you done anything related to fonts recently?
