Hello all,
Most websites(including ifixit) are listing the same battery for Macbook Air 11" mid 2011 onwards although originally the 2011-2012 ones had a 7.3V battery of slightly lower capacity in the same chassis with the same connector. I wanted to ask whether I should hunt down a 7.3V to match the original or whether apple itself installs the 7.6 5100mah ones when you get a replacement. You can find the originals but the 2015 ones tend to be obviously newer, I just don't know whether the extra .3 v matters.

If you had a replacement lately could you check system info / coconut battery and let me know with your design capacity?

Hi, I just put an iFixit battery in my 2012 MBA. I didn’t go into the science of it, I just bought the one from their site. It works perfectly and was super easy to install.

I ended up ordering a battery from ebay from the later models, under 100 cycles for $24.70. Neewer phone technical support said the 7.3/7.6v doesn't matter as the mobo can handle the difference. Besides, the original scales from 8100mv to low 7000s during the course of a cycle anyhow so I thought oh well, I'll take the extra 400ma

how is the battery after a month of use? good? could you share the seller name? I want to get one. Thanks.

Good so far, I don't think the macbook will charge it beyond 4800mah (or doesn't report it anyhow). The seller ran out of them but you can go with any seller, just search for genuine apple battery, filter for used ( all new ones are after market ) and find a seller that lists cycle counts, get something under 100 counts.
