Hi all!

I’ve been using a 2019 MacBook Air for the past 3 years with my 27” LED Cinema Display and 27” Thunderbolt Display. The Cinema Display is connected via a 3rd party adapater, very similar to this one Hyperdrive USB C Adapter, and the Thunderbolt Display is connected with an Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2.

Recently, my employer provided me with a new 2020 M1 MacBook Air. Unfortunately, I’m having trouble connecting both displays using the setup described above. I’m available to connect 1 display at a time, but not together.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The M1 air can't do 2 connected displays over Thunderbolt with HDMI/Display Port adapters.

However, it can do 2 displays or more if you use a Dock with a DisplayLink chip, something like THIS for example.

Or you can also do 1 display connected to Thunderbolt via a HDMI/Display Port adapter and the 2nd monitor connected to a DisplayLink adapter.
