Using a 87W power adapter with the 16 in MBP

Hey guys, so I accidently sold the 96W power adaptor that came with my 16 in macbook and I'm using the 87W adaptor. Will it make a difference in performance if the machine is always connected to AC power or is the difference solely in charging speed?
 
It will not make a difference in performance. If you run the machine at maxiumum load you may slowly drain the battery. But for normal use, no problems.

Just buy any 100W USB-C power adapter. There is no need to buy the Apple one.

But 87W, 60W, etc. will work just fine...
