Hi everyone,

I've been a happy ipod user who eventually purchased a macbook pro who then purchased an iphone, and I finally saw the light and bought an imac (actually I sold my MBP to pay for the Imac since i just can't work on a laptop!)...

And so the fun will begin once my beautiful shiny 24 incher arrives, hopefully by Friday. ;) One of my primary concerns is going to be accessing, reading, and writing files to my NAS. It's a Dlink DNS-323. It's formatted with a Linux file system, and uses Samba/Windows file sharing.

One of the problems I ran into with my Macbook pro was that every time I put the computer to sleep, when I would wake back up I would have to manually re-map the drive. I would definitely like to know how to avoid that.

Also, are there going to be any issues with writing files from my Mac to the NAS? A lot of the music files on my NAS have long file names like "The Killers - Spaceman (DJ Tiesto sunrise remix).mp3", will the Mac be able to properly display these files?

Also, if I download more music and save it to the NAS directly, not to my local machine, will these long file names be supported?

Just a few dummy questions from someone who is still learning OSX. Looking forward to finally ditching my PC, I hope. Although I will probably still use it to burn DVD's since the Superdrive only burns at 8x and my Lite on burns at 16. ;)
