I have an Apple (not iTunes) gift card that I would like to use as part of the payment when ordering a new iPad on Wednesday (assuming one comes out, etc.) Has anyone here used a gift card, successfully or unsuccessfully, during an announcement day pre-order rush? Would trying to enter two methods of payment put me at a disadvantage when competing with millions of other fanboys and fangirls?

The alternative would be to purchase an iTunes gift card with the Apple gift card (assuming I can do that, but I think the card is supposed to be good for anything in-store and online, which I would think includes iTunes cards) and use it for ongoing book and app purchases, which will add up to $100 over the course of a few months. I would prefer to spend it outright on the hardware though.

Any thoughts/experience/advice would be appreciated.

It will not be a problem, you apply it during check out, the total is updated and you are charged the new total. No disadvantage or any of that.

Everything should go smoothly, I am doing the same thing btw.
