Anyone know if I can use the lightning bolt port on my iMac to boot off of a MacBook Pro's hard drive?
I know I use to beable to boot the MacBook while holding the 'T' key and then use a firewire cord to use the laptop as a 'hard drive' off of another Mac, thus boot off of it.
The 'want' is to lightning bolt attache iMac to MacBook Pro, boot the iMac off of the MacBook Pro's HD, use the dual big screens, faster CPU.... then power off, unplug and run with the Mac Book Pro, and when it boots, be where I left off with the files on the drives. All of this use to work with firewire (have not tried since Lion), but would be kool to use the speed of the new interface, AND with the new iMac not having Firewire....
