When I use my macbook with a HDMI to my TV (I use a transformer for the HDMI to Thunderbolt) and I press full screen for the movie I'm watching I lose my bar at the top. I know it's due to the full screen mode. Is there any way I can seperate the two screens and still be able to use my laptop fully while I'm watching a movie?

I might be mirroring. I will check it out.

No, the MBP is primo 2011

EDIT: I'm not dublicating/mirrioring according to my settings

I can't see it.

My tv (2nd screen) is set to 1080p in settings and the MBP is at its max. I don't think the bar is there on the tv but is it just because I have a different resolution?
