I finally get my new Mac laptop tomorrow:D! I am using a PPC based iMac and am wondering if it is possible to use that same backup onto an Intel based Mac. What I am trying to really do is create an exact clone onto my new Mac. If not how can I transfer my iTunes music and playlists, or maybe the easiest way?

Thanks Mac-chums!

You wont want to do that because many of your current files will be PPC versions, you'll want to start fresh.

You can copy your iTunes music, just be copying the entire iTunes folder to the external, then to the new Mac. Same for any other files you want copied.

I haven't had any problems, but you need to copy the entire iTunes folder, not just the iTunes music folder.
