Hi, we just got a new Macpro for Xmas, and are now setting it up. One of the first things on the setup is to setup the internet connection. Just one problem ...

The MacPro doesn't have ethernet, and we can't use a wireless network just now (don't ask!). But our non-wireless modem has USB as well as ethernet, so I planned to setup using the USB connection.

Trouble is, the MacPro won't recognise it. It works fine when I use it on our older MacBook, so there isn't a problem with the modem or the connection. So it must be that the Mac has to be setup before it can recognise the USB network.

Does anyone have any information explaining this please, and of course how to get around it?

Thanks.

The USB connection probably isn’t to connect to the internet - it’s probably to setup of configure the modem. You might be stuck with ethernet which in that case you will need this
