Ok so I have an old usb network adapter. My g3 imac seems to be having trouble lately, as everytime my router resets itself, which is getting more frequently, I end up with a 169.x.x.x ip address. So I decided to try the usb adapter. it is a netmate by catc and the model is u-eth-nmo2. According to the companies site it only supports windows, but I have heard many people can get unsupported devices to work. Any suggestions?

So how do you expect to fix your router by installing an unsupported USB network adapter in your Mac?

Well its a problem with the network card, because all the other computers connected to the router are fine.
