I bought a generic composite a/v cable from ebay to hook up my 3GS to my tv and I got it working for 5sec but then I got an error message saying that this accesory is not compatible with the iphone.

I thought it was the cable so I got a Griffin composite cable and I got the same message.

I even tried using a couple JB apps like "TVOut" and "ScreenSplitr" and I havent had any luck.

Do I need to get an Apple branded cable or is just that 3.0 doesnt allow this function?
