Using a WinMC remote with OS X?

I have an extra windows media center remote and I was wondering if it would be possible to use this remote with OS X...

I would assume that the media center remote buttons are just some mappable buttons and I would assume there is some way to programmatically take over these buttons and map them to OS X functions...

Any ideas on this one?
