Using a wireless mouse through USB hub

Ive been looking at wireless mouse options and decided to go for a decent one that will last a good long while, over a cheaper one i will want to replace soonish. So im thinking of going with the Logitech VX Revolution, but, i HATE the USB dongles that they come with. I do have a USB hub that is hidden out of sight (out of mind) but don't want to go buying a well expensive mouse if it's going to have issues running through a hub.

So, has anyone had any experience using this mouse, or any other for that matter, through a hub? Are there any issues when booting up and the mouse initiating? Or any other issues people might have encountered?

or u can just get a bluetooth mice, like Logitech V270.

No thank you. I want something that will last and with some functionality. Im assuming i can assign the side buttons to do things like bring up dashboard?

I have a logitech wireless mouse plugged into my Apple keyboard, and it works fine. Before I came to college, it was plugged into a USB hub and hidden out of sight.
