I apologise if this may have been covered elsewhere, but I looked at some of the responses and got utterly confused. I would like to be able to connect my older acrylic display to a new(ish) MPB and believe that there is an adaptor available but can't find one on the Apple UK site. Can anyone assist here please. I believe what I am looking for is a DVI to ADC adaptor - but I could be wrong.

I too have a 23" ACD with the Adc connection. Before 2012 macs you could use with aforementioned adapter but it is no longer supported and will not work. I looked long and hard for a way to use it with 2012 Mac-mini, no go.

Thanks for the response - looks like it will have to a bog standard SVGA screen then - I have all the adaptors for that and a 30m cable too - I want to use it in stage as a prompt tool.

We have one of those ADC to DVI connectors and I have it hooked up to my wife's rMBP through a DVI to Thunderbolt adapter. It's working like a champ.

Do you have the model number and where did you get it from?

Thanks for responding

What year is wife's rMBP?
Its mine and it was purchased in April this year. Its got 8gb memory, running OSX 10.8.4 and 750 Gb storage (running OSX and Parallels)

I want this so I can use the monitor as an on stage prompt.

It was called the "DVI to ADC Adapter"
The Apple part number was: M8661LL/B

I'm currently using one with the Thunderbolt to DVI adapter on a 2012 Macbook Air. Works fine.

For what it's worth, I'm using the 23" Apple Cinema Display.

Are they still available - I can't find it on the Apple UK store?

2012 MacBook Air was released in June 2012, which was when the adapter still worked with the acrylic acd's

They haven't been sold by Apple for many years - remember we are talking about a display that was discontinued in 2004. I see that there are some used ones for sale on Amazon.com.
