Does anyone know if I can use and Australian Iphone on straight talk's network. It should be a GSM phone and I can't see why I can't just put the SIM card in and have it work. It won't recognize or let me do this, but seems like it is tied to the Vodafone network in Australia. If I restored the Iphone would that make a difference. I did unlock and Jailbreak the Iphone, but that didn't fix the issue. Thanks for any help.

It will work, but if it's locked to Vodafone you need to either have them unlock it, or unlock it yourself. The former is preferable. But the phone itself is the same as is sold anywhere else.

I restored the Iphone to Firmware 5.1. However I cannot activate it in Itunes with either a straight talk or AT&T SIM. That means the only way to get it working again is with the Vodefone SIM. THat means it gets locked again to Vodafone. Any other ideas. Thanks

No, you cannot use a locked iphone with any carriers sim.
If its locked to vodafone australia that's the only sims it will accept.
Call them up and see if they will unlock it for you.

It already is locked. You need to get Vodafone to unlock it for you.
