I have no use for cell phone minutes - I only use about 60 a month and am perfectly fine with just using the Skype app or something. So my goal is to just get data only onto my iPhone 4 at the cheapest possible price. (Ignore for this post the upfront costs of cancelling an AT&T contract early and the cost of an iPad 3g)

Is there any issue with simply popping the micro-sim from an iPad 3g (with say the $25 2gb data plan) into an iPhone 4? Will the iPhone 4 then have data only (and obviously no calling)? Do I need to wait for an iPhone 4 jailbreak for this to work? Does AT&T care? Will they try to add something to my plan if they detect that the sim is in an iPhone 4 and not the iPad 3g?

Thanks!

($25 a month is a lot more manageable than the $70 I have to pay for the minimum iPhone 4 individual plan)
