I'm trying to sell my 4. I have an old 3G that my wife was using before she got a 4 that still has a SIM card in it. If I were to sell my 4 before the 4S gets here on Friday can I just plug the old iPhone 3G into iTunes and restore from the back up of my phone to activate the SIM on my account?

I know I could just buy one of the SIM adapters, but that would take a day or two to get to me.

yes you can restore from backup to get all your info on the phone,

you have to use your sim from the iphone 4 in it as it contains your phone account/number ect, that's how sims work. that other sim in the 3gs will be a different account.

so you would need a sim adapter to use the 3gs but most mobile phone shops will give you an adaptor for free.
