Using an older iPhone in Mexico and Edge.

Hi,

I am using an older iPhone model here in México. I bought a chip and I bought a prepaid card to do my calls. However, it can be a headache because the company that provides the service will charge me for using EDGE. Is there a way to shut down EDGE?? Internet through Wi Fi is fine with me but not with EDGE or whatever be the name down here.

Am I in any way in control of the EDGE function, or is that something the company has the power and the last word about it ?? It is really a shame, not to be able to use an Apple product in a way that is satisfactory to oneself !!!

Just need to do the Jailbreak and then install "bossprefs" to disable the EDGE. Saludos!
