Using Australian iPhone with NTT Docomo

I just bought an iPhone in Australia and registered for use with Optus. Came back to Japan and installed my Docomo Foma SIM and it works great for phone calls.

Other apps such as Google Maps, Weather, Stocks etc don't work and the reason is always "Could not activate cellular data network".

Does anyone know how to activate the "cellular data network" on an iPhone?

Any help very much appreciated.

Hey John, just so you know, you're heading into uncharted territory, and there is little support that I've found out there for using the iPhone with Docomo. But check out this thread.

To sum it up, you have to add the apn settings which isn't that difficult, but there is a carrier settings file on cydia. And that works just fine. Just so you know, you'll want to sign up for an unlimited data plan if you plan to use even just 4 mb of data.
