I will be switching from windows the mac next week, and am sort of anal retentive when it comes to computer environmnets. I was wondering if I could use automater, or if there is some other way to automatically group the icons of running applications together on the dock. I find the dock sort of anoying, since it clutters to many functions together (apps, files/folders/recycle/minimisation). To bring a bit of order to the chaos that is the leopard dock, i want to have all the running icons next to eachother. Its a bit wierd, cause they'll move around, but oh well. As an afterthought it will actually organize apps in the order last used.
p.s. I'm also looking for a way to keep the os x dock under all windows (not hide it) but just resting on the desktop. This can be done in object dock and severely lacking in os x.

Thanks
