Resolved Using Best Buy gift cards for discount?

My uncle is hoping to get my aunt an iPad for Christmas. We were thinking he could buy enough $50 Best Buy Apple gift cards (for $40) and thus buy it at a discount. Does anyone know why this wouldn’t work?

Just curious. Best Buy tends to be finicky at times. But if this works okay, I would think everyone would do it.

Those are iTunes/App Store gift cards though. You can't buy an iPad with them.

I thought he meant Best Buy cards. Yeah, no, those iTunes card aren’t good for merchandise.

I meant the Apple gift cards, not the iTunes ones.

Best Buy doesn't sell Apple Store gift cards, only iTunes/App Store. The latter can't be used for physical goods from an Apple Store. Only digital.

Like you said, if it was that simple, everyone would do it.
