iPhone 7/Plus Using Bluetooth and Airplay simultaneously

At home I use Airplay to listen to music off my iPhone and have been thinking of getting a portable Bluetooth speaker as well for outdoor occasions.

Does anyone know if it is possible to use both Airplay and Bluetooth simultaneously? I was looking at a JBL Pulse 3 and wondering if there was any possibility of adding it as an extra speaker for the kitchen or something in my home audio system. I'm assuming there is no way to do Airplay on the JBL.
