First off, sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum, I figured this would be the best place to post, seeing as how I'm running boot camp with windows xp pro.
I can't get CSS to work, I've updated my video drivers, dx, and fully updated windows, and CSS contstantly gives me a black screen after it loads. I've been to the steam forums, and I could not find a solution. I still have two items without drivers in my device manager, but after reading a few threads here, I figure their not important.
Does anyone have any ideas? My XP IS legit as is my counter strike.

You more than likely either have a Macbook or a Mini. Those will not play CSS with more than constant 20FPS, in other words unplayable. But to get CSS to work, right click the icon on the desktop. Go to properties -> shortcut tab -> go to the target line -> after .exe" put -dxlevel 70.
In other words it should look like:
"C:\Program Files\Steam\steam.exe" -dxlevel 70

This allows the game to be run in DXlevel 7.0 because the Intel GMA950 is not powerful enough for DX 8 or 9.
