I'll first start by saying that yes, I know I double my chances of losing the backup. And I know that I would have to lose my existing backup to create a concatenated disk set. With that out of the way ...

I have a spare external drive, and would like to use it to increase my time machine backup drive size. I already use a cloud backup service as well, so time machine is the local backup. Functionally, can a concatenated disk set be used as a Time Machine drive? Any issues with using encryption for the time machine backups on that drive?
