Hi
I've seen all the threads about changing icons in Apps and dock. I'm trying to do this with PNG files. I've tried to use COCOTHUMBX to convert them to icons but the results are unsatisfactory. Perhaps my images are too small...
Are there any other ways to either convert, or use PNGs as Icons?
Thanks
Ed

I just:

1) Open the PNG in Preview
2) Cmd + A (Select All)
3) Copy
4) Find the app in the Finder
5) Cmd + I (View Info)
6) Click on the icon in the top left corner
7) Paste

If the app is already in the dock, you will need to take it off the dock and re-add it.

This has always worked for me and requires no programs or converting. haha.

Thanks Shado, that app is great! It retains 100% of the image quality whereas cocothumbx significantly degrades quality. Didn't even try the other one as this works so well for me.

Mousouchop - I'd tried just dropping the PNGs into the apps but this never worked for me... If you like Shado's app you should try Candybar. http://www.panic.com/candybar/ - You can change almost all icons on the operating system.

Thanks all

Ed
