using DATA: 5 bars -> then 1 bar -> no bars -> back to 5 bars?

It happens a lot when i use data..i would have perfect 5 bars, not moving around or anything...then out of a sudden, just one bar and the Edge logo is gone. then no service, and then everything back to normal..this is so frustrating....anyone else?
