Using Disk Utility Problem To Re-Format A USB Stick ?

Hello,

Thanks for all the previous help.

I want to re-format a new USB stick I purchased
to the ExFat format.

I have Disk Utility opened
I have the Show All Devices Checked in the View Menu.

The USB Stick icon is on my desktop.

But I cannot get it to show in "Show All Devices"
Cannot drag it there either.

There is no drive shown in the left hand sidebar.

What, as usual, am I missing or doing wrong ?

Is there perhaps a new version of Disk Utility now
required for Sonoma.

It's a big stick; 512 GB. Could this be my problem ?

Please post the output of "diskutil list" in Terminal.

Take a screenshot of disk utility and post it here.

If nothing seems to work, take the USB flashdrive to a PC and see if it will format there.

Try booting into safe mode and then see if Disk Utility recognizes it.
