Using Disk Utility to make a distribution DMG

I have been unable to find any tutorials on how to do this in Leopard, so I did it my own way, but I'm stuck

The goal: to make a pretty, auto pop-open DMG.

I made the temp disk image, opened it, and applied the background and view options to the drive inside (hid the background with the dot prefix, etc.)

The next step is supposed to be that I make a DMG out of the disk, not the temp DMG, and it will pop open. It does, except it does so without respecting any of the view options (icon size, background, icon position.)

Any help!?
