Using Double-Pronged Computer Headset with iPhone 3G

Greetings,

I would like to use a computer headset (with microphone) with my iPhone 3G. The issue is that the headset has two audio jacks, one for the microphone and one for the audio (headset). Can I use a two-to-one adapter to make this work with my phone?

Also, anyone know if you can call an 1-800 number via skype for free?
