I have to record a presentation my GF is making to post to youtube and I will be 12 feet from her. I'd like to get a small unobtrusive microphone closer to her. I tried a setup using a a 5meters audio cable (female one side and male other) and then I connected the iphone headphones thats included for the microphone.
I did a test using this setup and got no audio besides some hiss. she doesnt want to wear a mic on her. I will use a small tripod/stand to get the mic to be low and in front of her but just wondering what I did wrong. I saw all kinds of cheap mics in PC stores but just wondering if these are ok to use?
