Using Front Row

How does front row determine what is a movie and a tv show? I have a bunch of files (avi). I have the movie files in the "movies" folder, but I also have some files that are TV shows. How can I tag these files or make front row recognize them as tv shows?

If you have them imported into iTunes, which I think Front Row uses, change the genre to TV Show so they appear in the TV Show column in iTunes.

you can't import avi's into itunes without converting them, which i dont plan on doing. front row has no problem playing the avi files, i just want them tagged and separated the correct way.
