so up to now I haven're really tried to use my big homepods as TV output, as I only have 1 of each (kitchen and living room).
I decided to buy two homepod minis to make a stereo pair and use as default audio in the apple TV but my issues are:
1) they don't appear as a source in Default audio output. I made sure all apple TVs and homepods are in the same room in Home.app.
2) since that didn't work I started experimenting with the kitchen apple tv and a single big homepod.
- The default audio output appears and it says "Homepod (airplay)" is that what it should be?
- it seems to me that the apple tv and homepod don't actually connect until needed. for example I can't hear any system clicks or FXs
- When I use apps like netflix, audio is in sync and crystal clear. but with some apps (IPTV apps for example), the audio is delayed by many seconds and actually is quite sloppy.
Is this normal? Have I discovered the main reason people aren't using homepods with their apple tvs? LOL!!
Cheers.
