Ok, so let me preface this question with some context...
For the past year, I have been fighting, digging, researching and pulling my hair out to figure out why the Apple Mail app no longer has audio notifications. This has happened on multiple iterations of MacOS and I've tried everything I can think of to get it work and I think it's a lost cause. After scouring over pages of Apple Support forms, Apple based troubleshooting articles and even reinstalling MacOS from scratch, I'm convinced that Apple wont fix this glaring bug anytime soon so I've decided to just permanently move onto using Outlook.
That being said, Outlook for Mac is far from perfect. But it DOES have visual AND audio notifications! Exactly what I'm looking for in a Mail application. However, the one thing I cannot figure out is how to use iCloud aliases with Outlook.
I have found a number of Microsoft support forum posts that outline how to do it but I'm still getting nowhere. Essentially, I'm supposed to log into iCloud as one of my aliases, create an app specific password for THAT alias, enter it into Outlook and voila, off to the races. But whenever I log into iCloud as my alias of choice, it's smart enough to know that's not my REAL account address.
All I want to do is to have the ability to reply to emails sent to a particular alias from within Outlook. This is the ONE thing that Mail can do that Outlook cant from what I can see.
I'm open to any suggestions or ideas I haven't thought of.
