Using iMac as a Display for PC

I've recently purchased myself a PC mainly for gaming and was planning to use my iMac as a display. [Mid 2010 iMac 27"]

I was planning on doing this with my Atlona AT-HD620 which has worked amazingly for me when using my iMac as a display for PS3 / Xbox360.

But when I plugged my PC's HDMI into my Atlona device to convert it for my iMac everything comes out pixelated.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can fix this problem? Or any suggestions on how I should go about using my iMac 27" as a display for my PC?

I would preferably like to avoid purchasing something like AT-DP400, least leave that as a last resort.

*My PC GFX doesn't have a mini display port only 2 DVI and 1 mini HDMI port

Wouldn't the cinema display be a good option?

Will the apple dvi-mini display port work? I've read on places that it won't work since the apple dvi-mini display port is for output only

I would have guessed yes.. but after reading up on the adapter, it doesn't seem to want to say either way.

The adapter is definitely output-only if you have a Thunderbolt port. But you don't, you have a displayport.
