Morning all,

I'm looking at getting a flatscreen TV for the bedroom but a colleague made a good point - why not use my 20" iMac as a TV?

Basically this is what I need from a TV, can the Mac do the same?

- Remote control
- DVD player
- DVB-T tuner (preferably twin tuner for watch & record)
- Ability to record

Can any of the Elgato products offer this? The 400/410 seems closest but not quite as flexible as having a separate TV/DVR - but obviously a lot cheaper. Anyone use their iMac this way? I'm thinking I'd need a bigger HDD too, will the iMac take a 400Gb drive without issues?

Thanks!

a 400Gb drive is a BTO option on the iMacs, so I wouldn't see a problem. Perhaps heat might be an issue, but as you've got a 20" iMac, that shouldn't be too bad.
