Using "internal" DVD burner with powerbook

Is there a cable or connector I can connect to an internal dvd burner I pulled out of my desktop system t that would interface wtih my powerbook? I'm thinking some kind of ide to firewire or usb cable.

I'm pretty sure that there is a sort of case that will allow you to use an internal drive as an external drive. You may want to search for one at compusa.com.

Actually I'm not looking for an enclosure but just a cable I can use to interface. I don't even care if the internal drive is dangling on my desk, bare metal and all.

Nope, no cable. You'll need a firewire enclosure. Remember you will also need power for it.
