Hi all,

My parent’s PC has gone kaput, and instead of getting them a replacement desktop, I was thinking of an ipad 2. I haven’t been following the news closely, but I hear that with icloud we don’t need a computer to activate and sync the ipad 2 anymore.

Is that already true now or is it still in development? My parents don’t have a computer at present, so the ipad 2 would be their sole computing device. Obviously I can’t buy the ipad 2 for them if it still requires a desktop computer.

Could someone clarify for me please? Many thanks!

feature will be available with ios5.

In other words... Not available yet.

+1 it will be available in the fall

but you can use it without a pc now you only need a comp for updates really once you set it up and if you buy it from apple they can set it up there.
