Doing a lot of PhotoShop work at the moment, i've need to utilize a larger display. I've therefore had to put my laptop to the side an connect a larger display to use primarily.

Now (noting i'm on PC), I have a mouse but not a standard USB keyboard. Is there a way I can utilize the iPad's soft keyboard to type on my PC? I remember using an iPhone app once to do this, but never seen it done on iPad.

Thanks.

this is really weird ive just decided about 20 minutes ago that id try doing this. so far id say that its alright but not having physical keys makes it a little harder than using my physical keyboard. maybe once im a more competent ipad typer it could be worthwhile instead of getting a bluetooth keyboard.

There is also a app for the iPad called trackpad or something like that, can't remember lol. It acts just like the apple track pad but also allows use of iPad keyboard.

I've been wanting something similar. I want to use my iPad as a bluetooth keyboard, and so far all I've found is the ability to use it as a keyboard over WiFi.

i think you'd need something from the jailbreak community to do this as i'm pretty sure the bluetooth is only for connecting a bluetooth keyboard to the ipad.

Any developments? I would really like to use an iPad (or iPhone) as a shortcut secondary keyboard while I work in creative software, like Photoshop.

I would think a real keyboard would work better then an iPad with its virtual keyboard - I'm not seeing any advantages to this.

Me neither... the reason an iPad keyboard works on a touch screen is that you're looking directly at that screen as you type. To use it for shortcut keys and such out of sight would be difficult at best.

Could try putting some rhinestones on the screen for texture ;)
