iPad mini Using iPad Mini as a Wifi Hotspot

I'm due to receive a cellular iPad Mini and was just wondering if I could use it as a personal wifi hotspot to tether my iPhone to it. The carrier I use on my iPhone, o2-Uk, does not have a 3g signal where I work, but the carrier I am going to be using for the iPad Mini, Three, does.

This is carrier dependant, but the Mini has this feature and works fine.

Two limitations, compared to other hotspots:
1) You cannot rename the hotspot/SSID,
2) The password is displayed in clear, in the Settings of the iPad.

My carrier is an overseas provider, and initially the Hotspot feature did not appear. However, after a short trip away (in Airplane mode) the feature appeared when cellular was reactivated. (Don't know if this was related to the simultaneous press release for launch of iPhone 5 in my region?)

Anyway, it works and is easy/reliable to initiate.

Yes, Three will let you tether with an iPad plan, I regularly do so and it works very well

Is the tether part of the ATT 3GB plan or not?

From their website, the 5GB plan is clearly described as including tether.

This is not only to you but to anyone who knows the answer.

Also, can the tether be done via USB or Bluetooth?

after AT&T makes their change in the system you'll have to do a hard reset and then it'll just know and be an extra feature in the general settings tab
