I Currently have an iPad mini with the unlimited AT&T data plan that I'm grandfathered in for. The screen recently cracked, and I was thinking of getting the iphone 6 plus without a contract or SIM card....and then putting my iPad mini nano SIM card into the iphone 6 plus....and using it like I do my iPad mini....for data only.

will this be possible? will it recognize the iphone 6 as an iPad mini? I don't want to use the iphone 6 as a phone. Just want to use it as an iPad mini replacement.

THanks for any and all comments.

I've heard putting a $29.95 unlimited iPad data sim into an iPhone will cancel your plan. I could be wrong, but use caution.

I have tried putting my ipad AT&T nano sim in my unlocked Verizon 5S. It tells me I need a phone plan.
