Using iPhone 3g sim in old iPhone..

Sometimes i'd like to use my old iphone for when I go to the beach or other places that may be to dangerous for the 3G which I care about.

Would it mess up my account? Would at&t be able to tell? I mean im paying 30 for 3G so there shouldnt be a problem when Ill just be using EDGE. Right?

I havent even tried switching the sims either. Does it even work?

It should work, but the iPhone may need to be restored from a backup so that both phones appear to be the same. I routinely use my SIM from my iPhone EDGE in my old Motorola V180, and it works fine.
