I have an iphone 6s 16gb and shoot 4k and take a lot of photos so it's constantly full. I usually use cloud backup when I have wifi, but I may not have that option when I'm away on this trip.

I also have an iphone 5 64gb which is now collecting dust.

Could I airdrop my photos and 4k videos across to the iphone 5 to store them without losing quality?

Any help or tips would be appreciated.

Well, I've been running some tests and it seems to work fine.

To anyone with a similar question in the future, here are the steps I took to get it to work.

I transfered a 4k video from iphone 6s to iphone 5 using airdrop.

The iphone 5 cannot play the 4k file, but it stores all the information.

When I eventually get wifi, I can upload all of these 4k video files from the iphone 5 to google images app which can play and backup the file (although it only plays the file at 360p quality which got me worried for a sec).

Once downloaded onto my computer from images.google the file played at perfect 4k full resolution.

Question answered.
