According to this video from WWDC22, both Mac and iPhone must be signed into the same Apple ID for Continuity Camera to work. Is this the case for wireless connection only or can I use my iPhone as an external camera on a Mac where I'm not logged into iCloud if I connect it over USB?

Anyone knows if the Mac and iPhone must use the same Apple ID for this to work?

Yes, both need to be using the same Apple ID, even if wired.

It’s essentially no different than the Sidecar feature. That requires both devices to be using the same Apple ID whether wired or wireless as well.
